2025 Goals: Gearing Up for Adventure

2025 Goals: Gearing Up for Adventure
It looks nice, but its soooo cold!

Hello friends!

2025 is upon us! While we’re still a ways off from prime riding weather (unless you’re one of those hardcore winter riders—mad respect), I’m already getting excited about the upcoming season. For my first blog of the year, I thought I’d share my goals for 2025 and some new directions for the site.

Spoiler alert: the Filthy Casual vibe isn’t going anywhere. But this year, I’m turning up the dial on planning and creativity.

New Year, New Gear!

First up, let’s talk gear. Last year, I experimented with keeping things simple by filming everything on my phone. And while that was fun and kept things lightweight, I quickly realized that the difference in quality between a phone and a small camera is huge! So, I took the plunge and bought a new camera for both video and photography.

What does this mean for you? More engaging, high-quality content! I’m planning to focus on creating video content that truly captures the trails and features we ride. Don’t worry, the blog isn’t going anywhere—I’ve still got plenty of words to share. But I’ll also be leaning into the old film school motto, “show, don’t tell.” Expect trail footage, cool features, and maybe even some cinematic vibes to bring our adventures to life.

Boise MTBLife: Ready for Launch

Last year, I started a little side project called BoiseMTBLife. The goal was to create a resource for beginner riders looking for easy-to-follow loops and trail guides. The framework is live if you want to check it out (Visit the website here). This year, I’ll be dedicating more time to expanding that site and building out its content.

I plan to do some cross-posting of content between Filthy Casual MTB and BoiseMTBLife to make sure you’re not missing anything, but I’ll keep each site’s unique vibe intact. If you’ve got beginner riders in your circle, BoiseMTBLife is a great place to send them!

A Heartfelt Thanks

Before I wrap this up, I just want to say thank you. Whether you’ve bought a shirt, shared a post, or simply read along with my ramblings, your support means a lot to me. This small but mighty community keeps me stoked to create and share more.

Here’s to another year of riding, writing, and finding joy in the dirt.

Forever two wheels,
—Myles
